Estándares de la Profesión Docente en Biología: una aproximación micro-macro para la formación inicial en el contexto universitario chileno

Abstract

It is proposed that the development of teachers should begin from their initial training and to regulate this stage, in Chile, there are the Standards of the Teaching Profession, which include the Pedagogical and Disciplinary guidelines. This writing considered the career of Pedagogy in Biology. On the other hand, there are authors, such as Lahire (2008) and Ogbú (1997) who propose integrating micro and macro perspectives in educational research. Consequently, it is argued that it is possible and there is a need to integrate both perspectives to understand this phenomenon under study. One way to incorporate macro aspects is by applying a test to future Biology teachers and also through the analysis of documents, such as the plans and programs of said career from different universities and also the Standards of the Teaching Profession. From a micro perspective, it can include the interpretation of semi-structured interviews applied to program directors and future teachers of this discipline and observe their classes. A conclusion of this essay is that initial teacher training is a relevant stage, since it determines the competencies and skills that future teachers will have upon graduation, which will have an impact on their pedagogical practices.
